We have added a number of new functions to Spectraproof® in version 4.
Job browser:
To make it as easy as possible for an operator at the machine’s control panel, there is a “job browser” to open the job data. You can enter a search term, job number or similar in this browser and pre-sort the results using filters.
The operator can open the job browser with the F1 key, enter the job number, press Enter, select the job and press Enter. The job is processed and the job browser closes automatically.
Measuring tool:
With the help of the measuring tool, you can easily display the target values for colors as LAB values and the plate values in percent and store them in a text list. If measurement data for the current print is available, the information for the current print can also be displayed here.
Target/Actual comparison:
If measurement data from the current print is available, a soft proof can be displayed for both the target conditions and the current status. This enables the operator to recognize very quickly and intuitively how far he is from the target. This effectively helps to avoid unnecessary correction runs on the machine.
Validation wizard:
Multiple validations no longer have to be carried out individually. Each validation can be configured in advance. For example, both an RGB target and a CMYK media wedge with the corresponding CC profile can be used as a configuration for the wizard. If the workstation is not currently in use, for example at night or during a lunch break, all validations can be left running. The results of the validations are saved automatically and can be called up at any time as a history via a search and output window.
Flex mode:
Up to now, process colors have been taken from the ICC profile and spot colors from the color database. In flex mode, all colors are treated as a spot color. This allows you to convert a process color into a spot color or place a spot color on a process color. It also allows you to measure your own four process colors and use them instead of those in the ICC profile. The printing sequence of process and spot colors can also be changed in Spectraproof simply by dragging and dropping.
Print output:
A printer profile can be stored for outputting the rendering on an office printer. This does not have the quality of a hardcopy proof, but in this way a good enough printout of the rendering including substrate and effects can be created quickly and easily.
This results in 3 possible outputs for the simulations created. Firstly, as a color-correct soft proof, as an RGB PDF for checking the content and as an almost identical printout on paper.
Support Just Normlicht:
In addition to the luminaires from [Lacunasolutions], Spectraproof® now also supports the control of the “Digital Light System” from Just Normlicht. This means that the current devices in the DLS series from Just Normlicht can be controlled from Spectraproof®. The light type, brightness and UV component can be controlled from the software.
